Statement of Faith

Here is a summary of the doctrine we hold and teach at Beautiful Brokenness Ministries

Verbal Inspiration of the Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, to be verbally inspired of God in the original manuscripts; infallible, inerrant and God-breathed, a perfect rule of faith and practice.

The Trinity

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 5:7).

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that God, the Son, who has always existed, became a man (without diminishing His deity) by virgin birth through Mary. He lived a sinless life and as the infinite God-Man took upon Himself the sins of all men, died in their place and satisfied God concerning their sins.
We further believe in the literal, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He was then ascended and exalted to the right hand of God as the Great High Priest of all believers.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, who convicts the world of sin; believers of righteousness; and of judgment. He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. His present ministry to believers also includes empowering, teaching, and leading into all truth.

Man

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin, the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved and, of himself, is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. Apart from faith in Jesus Christ each person remains in Adam, lost and devoid of Life. (Genesis 2, 3 and 5)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace (apart from any works) and received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins. Upon receiving salvation, the person receives Jesus, who is eternal life, and becomes a partaker of Christ's life. At the moment of faith Christ indwells that person and that person is in Christ.  He (or she) becomes a new creation and obtains a new identity as a child of God.

Eternal Security

We believe that all who have been truly born again can never become unborn again. Jesus Himself said that no one can snatch His own from His hand.

Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Welcome to Beautiful Brokenness

Beautiful Brokenness Ministries

"Ask the animals and let them teach you ..." Job 12:7

Beautiful Brokenness is a Christ centered discipleship and teaching ministry offering practical help for families and individuals who desire a deeper awareness of, and intimacy with, Jesus.

What can horses teach me about God?

How about dependence? My horses (like sheep) are utterly dependent upon the shepherd (me). I am utterly dependent upon Jesus. I am His. Most of the horses at Beautiful Brokenness have been rescued. Jesus has rescued me, and not just from Hell. Jesus has rescued me from my broken beliefs, emotions, patterns and thoughts.

My biggest challenge as a believer was that my experience did not line up with what I knew to be true. I KNOW God is good, all the time, but sometimes it doesn't feel that way. When I BELIEVE something that is not true, I often experience anxiety or anger. What do I do with these negative emotions? I can use them to identify my thoughts and beliefs. When I understand how to take thoughts captive (before they take me captive), hold them up to Truth, and choose Life - then I experience authentic freedom. Regardless of my circumstances.

As the horses here learn a single most important truth their behavior changes, because their belief changes. Once a horse believes that the human is a safe place, that the human can be trusted, everything else changes.

This is my problem as well. When I do not believe that Jesus is sufficient in and for every single moment, I find myself caught up in a whirlwind of anxiety. When I do not know how to choose Life when my circumstances are very painful, I wind up worried, struggling to make sense of Truth through my lens of pain.

If you are struggling to make sense of this life, I hope you will join us!

Jesus makes several promises that may or may not feel true when I am faced with pressure. He promises that He will never leave, nor forsake me. He promises that He will supply my need. He promises that nothing can separate me from His love.

These promises can sound dim or dead when faced with pain.

Painful circumstances can include:

Death of a loved one

Divorce or conflict in marriage

Trauma

Abusive or painful relationships

Suicide of a loved one

Substance abuse

Exhaustion from daily living

Our greatest joy at Beautiful Brokenness is to help participants see how to process their circumstance through the lens of Truth, rather than struggle to make sense of Truth through the lens of pain.  (Job 42:5 "... my ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You ...)

Our other joy is to help believers take hold of concepts like identity, belonging, rescue, redemption and reconciliation. These are HUGE concepts that are often shaped by our experience. We LOVE to help Christians see and appropriate the Heart of The Good Shepherd through our tangible metaphor of beloved rescued horses.

Horses are our modern day sheep and they help us see His Shepherd heart, His constant presence, and His perfect provision
